Instructor Certification from

The Koga Institute

There are numerous benefits to attaining instructor certification as an instructor in any of the 3 areas in which certification is offered.  First, of all, there is the sense of accomplishment one gets when successfully completing a rigorous training program.  Equally important is the knowledge that the skills, knowledge and abilities one has acquired during the training and certification process not only enhance your ability to do your job, but keep you safe as well.  Finally, gaining instructor certification prepares you to pass on to others the same knowledge and skills you have acquired, which could mean the difference between your trainee going home after work and ending up in the emergency room (or worse).

Each area of certification carries with it a required minimum number of training hours.  When nearing completion of these hours, the candidate would notify the Institute when registering for class that they are ready to sit for the certification exam.  At the end of the seminar in which the candidate attempts certification, they will be evaluated by both written and physical performance evaluations.  Both examinations are successfully completed by attaining a passing score which is dependent upon the level of certification.  The successful candidate is notified shortly after the seminar, and receives an instructor certification certificate.  The certification is valid for one year from the date of issuance.

In order to maintain the certification, the instructor must attend a 40-hour refresher course each year, and successfully accomplish the appropriate written and physical performance evaluations.  As you accumulate more training hours (refresher courses count toward hour accumulation, of course), you gain additional knowledge and skills, which prepare you for the demanding requirements of higher-level certifications, carrying even greater responsibilites as an instructor.
