Baton
The baton is probably the most controversial weapon in the police arsenal. There are varied and myriad tools and methods that have been created to obviate the need for the baton. These methods have not made the job of law enforcement any easier and have created controversy of their own.

Used properly, the baton is the most humane weapon in the police arsenal. It generates sufficient force to overcome attack quickly and with minimal use. If used improperly, it becomes a club used to beat a suspect into submission.

The Koga Baton Method uses a 29 inch straight wooden baton. The techniques are easily taught, easily employed and easily remembered. They can be used to overcome attack as well as in crowd control and corrections settings. As with all other aspects of the Koga Method, use of the Koga Baton Techniques culminates in Arrest Control Techniques so an officer that resorts to the use of the baton can safely and humanely bring the incident to end.
